  • Does resurfacing work on fiberglass?

Our materials provide excellent adhesion to fiberglass as well as cast iron, ceramic tile, Formica countertops, wood and metal cabinets, and many other surfaces.
  • What about grout lines when resurfacing ceramic tile?

The finish is applied over both the grout lines and tile, creating a sealed, non-porous surface that prevents mold and mildew buildup while maintaining the look of a tiled surface. Before we begin the reglazing process, Jim regrouts all tile to optimize both the appearance and structural integrity of the refinished surface.
  • What is involved with the resurfacing process?

We start by removing all existing caulking, then thoroughly clean all surfaces with industrial-strength cleaners. Any chips are filled and sanded smooth. We protect the surrounding area with paper and tape, and ensure proper ventilation using a powerful exhaust fan with flexible tubing that extends outside. We apply 5-6 layers of coatings, starting with an adhesion promoter, followed by 2 primer layers and 2-3 layers of acrylic urethane topcoat. Since preparation accounts for roughly 80% of the work and is essential to quality results, the owner personally completes every job to ensure the highest standards for each customer. We leave your space clean and tidy when we're finished.
  • What can be done for my cabinets?

Beyond resurfacing bathtubs, sinks, and countertops, we also resurface kitchen and bathroom vanity cabinets in place. We can give your cabinets a professional appearance with new handles or knobs at a fraction of the cost of replacement or refacing. Our process is genuine resurfacing, not painting. We use only premium products that cost over $170 per gallon and spray the material on to eliminate brush or roller marks. We can also custom-mix any color you'd like.
  • Do you install new countertops?

We don't install new countertops, but we can resurface your existing ones. We offer solid colors or multi-color speckled and fleck patterns. Our materials have a heat threshold of 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Resurfacing provides a finish that's approximately 95% as durable as the original surface. It holds up exceptionally well, though like your current countertops, it shouldn't be used as a hotplate or cutting board.
  • I have an older home with a clawfoot tub...can anything be done to it?

Absolutely. We resurface the inside of clawfoot tubs at your home for $650. Since standard bathroom paints work well on the exterior of clawfoot tubs, most customers choose to paint the outside themselves to save money. We can refinish your clawfoot tub right in the bathroom where it's located.
  • What about rental property?

Approximately half of our work involves commercial and rental properties. We provide the same 5-year warranty for all customers, whether you're an individual homeowner, manage college student housing, or operate a hotel.
  • Is there an odor involved with the resurfacing process?

There is an odor similar to what you'd experience when painting a room in your house. The ventilation system we use during the process helps minimize the smell.
  • How do I clean my resurfaced surface?

We recommend using a soft rag or sponge with a foam or gel cleaner. Many options are available at your local grocery store, such as Scrubbing Bubbles or Lysol. Avoid bristle pads and abrasive cleaners like Comet and Ajax, as these can dull the surface. Click on the question link above for additional cleaning tips.
  • What about chips and scratches?

We can repair and resurface chips, scratches, and most holes, whether they're from new construction or other causes.
  • Are you insured?

    Yes...fully.
  • How do you accept payment?

We accept cash, personal & business checks and Zelle. We do not accept credit or debit cards at this time.
  • How can I schedule an appointment?

Just give us a call at 815-756-2565 or text photos to Jim's cell phone at 815-739-8777.
  • Is there a discount for having multiple bathrooms worked on? What about a contractor´s deal?

If you have more than one bathtub to be reglazed, call and ask about the Contractor´s Special.
  • Do you refinish Jacuzzi style tubs?

Whirlpool tubs, Jacuzzis, Garden Tubs...they all can be transformed with little downtime. Remember, we can go from any color to any color.
  • Can I see what this looks like in person?

Call us for an appointment to see our tubs, tile, cabinets, or countertops. Toll-Free 877–TILETUB.
  • Do you have a showroom?

Yes, we use our home as our showroom. Visits are by appointment only. Please contact us for more information.
